notes |
A park on the scale of London's Bloomsbury, with surrounding row houses
too low to supply the same architectural containment. Within is a monument
(Antonio de Filippo, sculptor) to the civil-war ship the Monitor (built in
Greenpoint) and its designer, John Ericsson, and the Shelter Pavilion, in
18th-century French neo-Classical style. |
