notes

One of New York's last grand bank buildings, this Romanesque Revival tower has a solid masonry exterior with a grand arched entrance that symbolize the strength and permanence of one of New York's oldest banks. Its magnificent central banking hall, modeled on the nave of a Romanesque church, is decorated with rich materials and Art Deco ornament that pay homage to New York's booming economy in the 1920s.
